Details

Lemonade fruit is a citrus hybrid with a flavour all of its own - think the brightness and aroma of lemon, but sweet enough to eat straight from the peel without wincing.
The juice is clean and refreshing, the flesh is juicy and tender, and the longer you leave them to ripen, the sweeter they get.

What makes them even more interesting is where they came from.
Lemonade fruit was discovered in New Zealand in the 1980s - a chance seedling, believed to be a natural cross between a lemon and a mandarin, that nobody planned but everyone who tries it is glad happened.
They're still not widely grown commercially, which is exactly why they can be so hard to track down outside of someone's backyard.

They're wonderful eaten fresh, juiced on their own or mixed with other citrus, and some people love using the whole fruit - skin and all.

Please note: lemonade fruit naturally has marked skin - this is completely normal and does not affect the flavour or quality.

Storage

Keep your lemonade fruit at room temperature to ripen and sweeten further, or in the fridge once you're happy with the flavour.

They'll hold well for up to two weeks when stored cool.

Overnight delivery to the North Island and Christchurch. Two-day delivery to the rest of the South Island.
Rural deliveries may take an extra day.
