Known as true lemons, Yen Ben lemons are tremendously tart. This makes them perfect if you want the lemon flavour to stand out as the star of the culinary show.

With smooth and thin skin, the Yen Ben lemon has highly acidic juice and few pips. It is excellent for adding a slice to that fabulous gin and tonic on a hot summer’s day.

Also known as a Lisbon lemon, it originated in Queensland, Australia, in the 1930s. In the mid-1970s, it caught the attention of New Zealand fruit researchers, who planted a large number of trees. 

Lemons are used worldwide for culinary and non-culinary purposes, primarily for their juice and zest. They enhance food flavour and are used so often in cooking that they are almost indispensable.

Storage

Lemons store well at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, for at least a week.

Lemons will last much longer in the fridge – up to a month in a sealed plastic bag.

Shipping Info

We pack and dispatch our fresh, locally grown fruit from Monday to Wednesday each week.

We use NZ Post for all of our deliveries. We offer overnight delivery to North Island customers and two-day delivery to South Island customers.

All deliveries receive regular tracking information via email.
