Piqa Boo is a genuinely new kind of pear - a complex cross of European, Japanese and Chinese varieties that combines the best of all three into something quite extraordinary.

The skin is a vivid, block red that makes it one of the most visually striking fruits you'll come across. Bite in, and you get a crisp, juicy texture similar to a Nashi, but with a sweet, refreshing flavour that carries hints of coconut, pineapple and a whisper of strawberry. ams pear. 

Piqa Boo is ready to eat from the moment it arrives and stays firm and flavourful for weeks. Great eaten fresh, sliced onto a cheeseboard, or paired with blue cheese and walnuts in a salad.

Storage

Piqa Boo has exceptional shelf life - one of its standout qualities.

Keep them in the fridge, and they'll stay crisp and fresh for several weeks without softening or losing flavour. They can also be kept on the bench for a week or more. No ripening required - just eat and enjoy.

Shipping Info

We pack and dispatch our fresh fruit orders on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week.

Orders placed before 12pm on Wednesday are usually sent the same week, subject to availability.

We use NZ Post courier services and provide tracking details for every order so you can follow your fruit from our orchard to your door.

Overnight delivery to the North Island and Christchurch.

Two-day delivery to the rest of the South Island.

Rural deliveries may take an extra day.

Piqa Boo is a licensed cultivar bred by Plant & Food Research and managed by Prevar, meaning only a select group of growers are licensed to grow it.
