Richards Special is a larger mandarin variety with a generous size that makes it genuinely satisfying to eat. The flavour is sweet and full, the flesh is juicy, and the skin peels easily - everything you want from a mandarin at its seasonal best.

Don't let the wrinkled, bumpy skin put you off, that's just what Richards Special look like, and it has no bearing on the flavour.

A quick note on pips: Richards Special can have the occasional pip, but they're large and easy to remove and won't get in the way of how good these taste.
