Details

Quince are a traditional fruit prized for their strong fragrance and unique flavour when cooked.

Their firm flesh softens during cooking and turns a beautiful pink colour, creating the distinctive flavour used in quince paste, jelly and jams.

Quinces are naturally high in pectin, which helps preserves set perfectly, making them a favourite for homemade quince paste to enjoy with cheese.

Storage

Quinces store very well thanks to their firm flesh.

Keep them in a cool pantry or fruit bowl if using soon, or store them in the refrigerator where they can last several weeks.

As they sit, their fragrance will become stronger and more aromatic.

Shipping Info

We pack and dispatch our fresh fruit orders on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week.

Orders placed before 12pm on Wednesday are usually sent the same week, subject to availability.

We use NZ Post courier services and provide tracking details for every order so you can follow your fruit from our orchard to your door.

Overnight delivery to the North Island and Christchurch.

Two-day delivery to the rest of the South Island.

Rural deliveries may take an extra day.

Tracking details will be sent to you by email once your order has been dispatched.

Our Growers

These quinces are grown on the Twisted Citrus orchard in Gisborne, along with fruit from other local Gisborne growers. The trees are grown spray-free and carefully managed to produce beautifully fragrant fruit with excellent flavour.

Gisborne’s warm sunshine and long growing season help develop the strong aroma and natural pectin that make quince so perfect for quince paste, jelly and preserves.
