Details

The flavour is hard to place at first. There's the sweetness and easy segments of a mandarin, a honeyed depth behind it, and a gentle tang on the finish that keeps it from being flat.

That loose, baggy skin is the best thing about them. It comes away in one go, no knife, no mess, and the segments separate cleanly underneath. A few large pips, and that's the only work involved.

They're excellent eaten fresh, but they also keep unusually well for something this juicy, so a box lasts.

You won't often find ugli fruit for sale in New Zealand. Only a small amount is grown here and the season is short.

Approximately 3 ugli fruit per kg.

Storage

Ugli fruit keep well on the bench for a week or so and up to three weeks in the fridge.

The thick skin protects them better than most citrus, so they'll hold their condition even if you're working through a big box slowly.

We send all orders with NZ Post using a tracked courier service.

Overnight delivery to the North Island and Christchurch. Two-day delivery to the rest of the South Island.
Rural deliveries may take an extra day.

Our ugli fruit is grown right here in Gisborne by Erin, whom we've bought from for many years.

It's a small crop, picked at the right time and handled carefully so it arrives fresh and in excellent condition.
